Centipedes love Caleb

Caleb likes to look under our bricks and play with the bugs that live under them. Yesterday he found a centipede. He picked it up and the bug crawled on his hands. Caleb played with it for a few minutes, really a lot of patience for a 3 year old.

Caleb said;

"cen-pede. look cen -pede. He love me."

swim at the beach

In the summer we like to go to the beach. It is nice and shallow. the kids all like to play in the water. martin and maddie are

both pretty good swimmers. Caleb loves to play and splash in the water.

Reed only gets to watch swimming right now. He just enjoys being outdoors and having lots of attention from everyone.

camping

We went Camping this weekend. Caleb Martin and Maddie all had a blast. Even Reed had fun. He rode around in his carrier and enjoyed being outdoors. Everyone ran around in the woods a lot.

Caleb found a mushroom, he said it was a baby mushroom and asked were the mommy mushroom was.

There were lots of trees to climb. Maddie found a vine to swing on.

On the way home all four kids fell asleep right away.

Today Maddie was all wet as if she just poured a cup of water on her head. I asked her about it and here is the conversation that followed.

me:
"Maddie, why are you all wet?"

Maddie:
"I am a wolf. The wolf was hot so it went swimming in the river then it found a wooden cup. it also put its head under the water."

me:
"Maddie, you need to pick up the game in your room"

maddie:
maddie climbs onto the back of the couch. "It is my time to howl at the moon. ow-oooooooooooooooo ow-oooooooooooooo ow -ooooo"

kindergarten starts in september. I hope that goes well.

4rth of July

the day started with the neighborhood bike parade.....

We dressed up the kids and their bikes and scooters. then we went and paraded around the neighborhood. there were about 30 kids, and a policeman led the procession.


Caleb had a cape and a star on his head. He was very cute.

Later we went out and watched Ben's friends set off fireworks. It was fun. Only one person got burned. Hopefully there was no longterm hearing damage.

Even the kids got to set off fireworks (under close supervision).

Happy Birthday to me!!

I got a lot of nice things for my birthday, but one of the best was a birthday cake made by Maddie!!!

She designed the cake, it is a "princess cake".

My Mom put it together, and Maddie decorated it with a little help from grandma. She did a great job.

It had 3 layers and lots of frosting.

Good job Maddie!!!!
